Does anyone know?

I'll really need childcare and can't work out from government advice what the score is.

Thanks!

It probably depends where you are

We've been told by our local council that no matter what the government position is at the time they won't be opening up bookings for the school or community centre we use (we have a long-term lease of a room in the school and usually hire two other rooms plus a community centre room as a meeting/drop-off) to anyone until the summer at the earliest.

We've not even been allowed to operate for key workers or anything.

Ah, thanks justlyra

The holiday club is they usually go to is in a local school, sounds like a similar set up to yours so depends on the council. There are some locally at private schools which I guess would depend on the school.

They ran last year over the summer... Would just be nice to have some certainty for work.

The provider may not know yet. Last Easter we call it ourselves because the council wanted to give us four days notice, which is no good when you are organising supplies, let alone for parents organising work.

As far as I'm aware we could technically be running for the children who have school places (we do before and after school care as well normally), but the council don't want any external providers at all in the building.

Our local holiday club is open as normal as long as the school is, which it will be by then.
