Would you book a holiday for 2021? When?

I saw on the news that flight/travel websites are experiencing a surge in bookings from May onwards. Would you book a foreign holiday? If so, when would you feel 'safe' to book it for? By safe, I mean without risk of it being cancelled.

I'm due in August and would love to get away before but don't feel comfortable travelling late in pregnancy. Not trying to start a bun fight, just curious!

I have to say I looked at a holiday a couple weeks back (on a feeling hopeful evening) - just looked at the same thing now out of curiosity - the price has risen by £400!

DH’s annual leave is allocated a year in advance and he can’t change it. He has three weeks off from the 21st June, plus a week in October. We usually travel a lot but neither of us are keen to book anything abroad for this year.

Hopefully we can do something in the UK during the summer but we’re in Scotland, where things are moving much more cautiously.

I wouldn’t even confidently book a summer holiday to Scotland at this point. I’ve booked a very flexible and fully refundable holiday in England for the very end of August, have planned a few local day trips and other than that am firmly in the “wait and see” camp. At the moment it takes one variant to pop up abroad causing an overnight red listing and you’re looking at hotel quarantine which would literally drive my child insane. I’d spend the whole lead up to a foreign trip fretting about cancellation and the time away with a background level of concern about getting stuck. We might book something last minute if the situation improves or we might just find the different landscape of the next county foreign enough for this year!
