Can someone tell me why my piece of shit Clarks foot gauge isn't getting a size?

Just bought both the toddler and junior gauge and when I put my figures in it tells me that the measurements are out of range???

I've measured all of the kids and its doing it for all of their measurements!!!!

What am I doing wrong, its driving me fucking insane.

I have one of these and don't have this issue, are you selecting the right gauge for the size calculator?

EvilHerbivore · 23/02/2021 10:20

I had this too. No real advice as I gave up and went elsewhere

BaronessBomburst · 23/02/2021 10:22

I have this problem with DS as he has wide feet. I just measure the length and then let him choose from the wide fitting selection.
I think it's deliberately shit to force you to go in-store.

Crunchymum · 23/02/2021 13:23

Yep I am using the correct gauges. 3yo is the toddler gauge and 6yo and 8yo the junior one,

So infuriating as I just want to measure their feet (and paid £20 for the bloody gauges!)

If I knock 20mm of the toddler feet then the toddler gauge works !

But the measurements don't work in the junior gauge either.

I've had this problem, I was told it was possibly because my kids had in between foot sizes or some other bullshit reasons. Basically they said I should book an online fitting.. Its absolute crap so unless your child has perfect feet (mine suffer with wide fittings and high arches the sizer will not work.

I think it's an issue with the website, i measured with junior guage and entered the measurements into the toddler guage section of the website (or vice versa), and it worked

BestZebbie · 23/02/2021 13:42

It is a website issue - I had this yesterday trying to buy Clark's shoes with measurements (not from their own gauge). Even their own example measurements from the "how to measure" sheet didn't work.

If you go to Start-Rite they have a comprehensive table on their website (not hidden behind an app) where you can get the size from the measurements.

@Level32

Toddler is 145mm by 85cm

If you wouldn't mind trying that will be fab!

I tried it and it gave me out of range until I knocked some mm off the width. I don't think I was tightening the strap enough. I knew the width anyway as DS's have always been G fitting from the moment they could walk so I just mucked around with it until it spat out a size and went from there.

Thanks so much @Level32

I did measure her first thing but surely I wasn't a whole cm out? I'll try again tomorrow.
