I've recently been to the doctors due to pain during sex and slight bleeding after plus 3 recent bouts of UTIs which I've never suffered from. Within a week, 2 hospital visits, tests for cancer, and scans to check my pelvic and ovaries etc. (God bless the NHS - they were amazing) all came back clear. I'am however going through early menopause which started a few years ago. Today I received a text from the doctors and was prescribed estradiol. No consultation which I presume is due to covid - My question is does anyone have experience in using this form of HRT and side effects? It's all very new to me and the reviews I've read are not great.

The pessary form is far safer than the leaflet in the box implies as it acts locally and only a very small amount actually absorbs
I think the fact the GP prescribed this means you have been diagnosed with vaginal atrophy, which also fits with your symptoms. It can take a few weeks to have a real effect

Been on this one almost a year no side effects whatsoever, only thing I remember is the starting dose of everyday for 2 weeks, I sometimes had a sort of Vaseline type discharge on end of the pessary applicator when I removed it.put it down to a build up of product, didn’t have any problems though. Oh ,and it helped with dryness down below and urge to pee...weirdly!
