What is this on my daughter’s foot?

Any ideas?

Trying to figure out if this is a pharmacist job or a chiropodist job?

I’ve googled. Can’t figure out what it is. It’s been there a while she says and is now a bit sore whereas it wasn’t a couple of weeks ago.

Looks like a verucca, I would say a chiropodist would be better than pharmacist

BokehBabe · 21/02/2021 21:36

Wart - podiatrist

Joolsin · 21/02/2021 21:36

That's a verucca

Verruca? You can get stuff over the counter to freeze it off, so I'd say Pharmacist.

Don't share towels etc, or let her barefoot around the house.

GlennRheeismyfavourite · 21/02/2021 21:37

Photo's a bit dark - wart or verruca

StanfordPines · 21/02/2021 21:37

Verucca.
They don’t seem to be as common as they used to be.

OrangeSamphire · 21/02/2021 21:41

I thought verrucas had a black dot?

OP posts:
BronnauMawrion · 21/02/2021 21:44

verrucas don't always have the black dots at the earlier stages.

Berthatydfil · 21/02/2021 21:44

Yes I would say verrucca. The black dots don’t always show up.

Crookairroad · 21/02/2021 21:46

Same as mine. It’s a verruca. I’ve been told superficial one but difficult to get rid of.

birchtree23 · 21/02/2021 21:47

I just been to the podiatrist for other foot issues and told her I had verrucas. I was advised to leave them if they are not causing me any issues.

Serin · 21/02/2021 21:49

Looks like a mosaic wart to me. If so they can spread like wildfire. Get some liquid nitrogen on it straight away and freeze it off, then Bazooka the bugger to be sure.
Unless she is young, then I'd go to a chiropodist.

Sweettea1 · 21/02/2021 22:05

Verruca my ds had them an they wouldn't go I tryed all kinds until I done the banana skin trick took about a week but worked.

FelicityBeedle · 21/02/2021 22:07

Verruca, same as my persistent (3 years and counting) one. I get a black dog for a day or so every few weeks but it normally looks just like that

OrangeSamphire · 21/02/2021 22:09

Intrigued at the banana skin trick? 😂

If we can avoid a trip to a chiropodist or a podiatrist that would be good. DD is autistic and has had traumatic experiences of healthcare quite recently.

Thanks all, I’ll go to the pharmacy tomorrow.

Looks like a verruca. Both my dcs had this. Black gaffer tape got rid of it. Apply and leave it to sweat. You can change it if need be. Skin will turn start to turn black after a couple of weeks and then come off. Worked brilliantly for us and no pain or expensive corrosive products.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 21/02/2021 22:24

Looks like a big yellow circle to me. Has anyone in your family being playing hoopla during lockdown?

DayBath · 21/02/2021 22:30

Boots do a freezing kit, one application is supposed to do the job although I'm on my second attempt at my daughter's. Bazuka is fine to start with but as it wears away at the skin it starts to sting. Just mentioning it because if your daughter struggles with healthcare stuff then she might prefer a short treatment over a long one.

annie I tried this for mine last year (still have it Sad) but stopped as it started to smell and it turned into what I can only describe as a hole in my foot! So I'm guessing it was necrotic?!!

Anyway this freaked me out so I stopped. After a week or so it just came back. So nice I'm back to Bazooka but I'm beginning to think it's a pointless waste of £. Oh, and I've got 4 all really close together on the same foot.

Should I have given the tape longer?

I'd happily chop my foot off completely now I'm so fed up with it.

gottakeeponmovin · 21/02/2021 22:37

It's a verucca. Save your money as the podiatrist is unlikely to treat it. You can try bazuka over the counter but that doesn't always work. Strangely someone told me to try a banana skin on it overnight and then put a sock over it. It actually cleared my daughters up. They are very infectious though. Our podiatrist said kids usually have more than one and often on their fingers so keep it covered and don't let her touch it.

OrangeSamphire · 21/02/2021 22:45

Luckily she wears socks all the time as she can’t stand the feeling of carpet.

I think she must have picked it up when she was in hospital last year.

Gross.

Will give the freezing kit a go I think. And a banana skin while we’re waiting for the kit to arrive!
