Ashtead or Dorking?

Hi all. We are looking to move to Ashtead or Dorking in the next year or so and would appreciate some inside knowledge! looking for the usual - family friendly area, amenities, cafes, good schools, etc.

For me Dorking, but both are very nice. Dorking high street better than Epsom which would be your nearest high street as Ashtead doesn’t have much to offer. More country walks and nice pubs in Dorking, also some nice restaurants.

For me, dorking is much nicer. Lots of shops shut down but the igh street is still much better, and it’s got a lovely feel to it.

I am not sure of house prices in ashtead but I’d guess dorking may be more expensive.
