I'm so SICK of going for a WALK

I used to love it. Now it's just bloody miserable. Have ran out of routes and it's as BORING as staying in.

(Just has to get that out)

It keeps me sane. But loads of people feel like you and have posted exactly the same threads so you’re not alone.

Ylvamoon · 21/02/2021 15:35

I got an map with all the footpaths and bridleways for our area. I'm at the edge of a smallish town and it's definitely opened up the countryside for me.
Would that be an option for you?

SoupDragon · 21/02/2021 15:38

I hate going for a walk now because there are so many people there doing the same.

It's not boring though. Possibly casts & geocaching can make it more interesting. For example.

Nancylovesthecock · 21/02/2021 15:39

It's just nice to get out of the house though no? I always feel better once I've been out.

Magnificentmug12 · 21/02/2021 15:43

Oh it’s different today- it’s warm and the sun is shining- everyone is just in good spirits!

Loved the walk today!

ProfessorInkling · 21/02/2021 15:46

Me too OP. I’d love to just sit in a cafe, or the cinema, or potter around a museum. Soon....

potatopot · 21/02/2021 15:46

I listen to a podcast while I walk, makes it more interesting.

Nancylovesthecock · 21/02/2021 15:46

Oh yes @Magnificentmug12 isn't it lovely for it to feel so spring like? Very welcome change!

katy1213 · 21/02/2021 15:53

It's not so bad now flowers are coming up and you can pick a twig of blossom to bring home.

MrsDThomas · 21/02/2021 16:45

I love it! But living in a national park helps.

Toddlerteaplease · 21/02/2021 16:51

I've done every country park in my city. Very tempted to go and meet my support bubble for a walk in his city tomorrow, as i'm going stir crazy! It's too wet and muddy to go cycling.

BlackberrySky · 21/02/2021 16:54

As soon as all this is over, walks for the sake of walking will be consigned to my mental dustbin, along with loungewear!

ChrissyHynde · 21/02/2021 16:58

We're still walking , but no longer chatting away , running out of things to say on the same routes everyday , it is what it is.

Losingtheplot2021 · 21/02/2021 17:01

I’ve always done a lot of walking and off-road cycling before Covid.

Cycled a 5 mile stretch of bridleways/ byways today. Before Covid I could cycle this route and see maybe just one or two dog walkers or perhaps another cyclist or horse rider. But today I literally saw 200 odd people walking. Many of them have poorly controlled dogs (acquired in lockdown no doubt) and many families walk 3/4/5 abreast taking up the whole path and seem really put out when a cyclist (politely) asks to come past...
not to mention the litter everywhere Sad

So for me it’s ruined an activity I used to love.

(Not blaming people for going out walking, realise they are entitled to and have nothing else they can do, I just seem to be encountering a lot of rude selfish people)

Tobebythesea · 21/02/2021 17:05

I spent most of 2020 (and now 2021) either walking or in a park. I hate it but it was better this weekend due to the nice weather and the emergence of Spring flowers.

Fairyfalls · 21/02/2021 17:14

Sick of going for a walk too! Same streets and same houses it is sooo boring and walking with the same person all the time doesn't help.

BogRollBOGOF · 21/02/2021 17:50

I'm starting to return to my usual trail running after a few months off when the increased footfall prematurely pulverised the fields to mud. Plenty of new fences to stop people trampling half the field, and lots of new signs about dogs on leads and not feeding horses for a bit of novelty Sad

I normally love running and walking, but the lack of anythkng else to do, places being busier and muddier than usual has really quenched my enthusiasm since new year.
