Which household items are fighting back?

I can never understand why cafes use metal teapots that pathetically fail to either a) keep the team warm b) prevent your fingers from getting burnt and c) dribble tea all over the table rather than in the sodding cup not that going to a cafe is happening any time soon.

I also have an iron that rebels by a spitting black bits all over the shop usually my white uniform with no warning.

A lamp I've had for maybe a decade. It's used to being moved about, never a problem. This year I drafted it into service as zoom lighting. Obviously beneath its elderly dignity - picked it up last week to set behind my laptop before a meeting; the entire base of the lamp parted company with the rest of it and all the innards crumbled, so it can't be fixed.

My favourite wine bottle stopper retired early last week. Citing overuse and severe exhaustion.
