Balance bike recommendations

Looking to get DS a balance bike for his 3rd birthday. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally it needs to be pretty light, so definitely nothing wooden as cool as they look.

We've got a frog tadpole. You can get either 12 or 14 inch wheels depending on how tall your ds is. Our son absolutely loves his more than anything. We were advised by the bike shop to put the saddle so he had to stand on tip toes but he hated this. Once we put the saddle down so he could walk along with it at first he was away. Now he scoots around on it all day if he could!

The Chicco Red Bullet is really good. Very light but sturdy and the first bike my DS had. He would scoot along on it for miles!

I spent AGES looking into this and got in quite a tizzy because some cost upwards of a £100, so what do you get for that and is it worth it? Should I be getting pneumatic tyres for comfort? Should I get one with brakes so my pfb can allegedly more easily transition to a proper bike?

In the end I spent about £40 on a Vitus Nippy and it's great. Incredibly light weight. Seems fine on any surface. Comes in a choice of colours. DS loves it.

Chico red bullet. Light, cheap, widely available, does the job. I buy expensive pedal bikes for my children because they’re so much lighter than cheap steel ones, but I couldn’t see the point in an expensive balance bike, unless you want a brake.

Would highly recommend the forme cubly. We have hired it from the bike club. Very reasonable and you can take the pedals off for a balance bike :)

My 21 month old is on his siblings old balance bike. It was a cheap and cheerful one from Halfords. Really light, easy to steer and adjust the saddle. Other than the stickers missing from the frame it’s still going strong 5 years later and on its 4th kid.

We just bought a cheapy one from Halfords to see if he shown intetest in it first, turns out he loved it and didn't want an upgrade SmileSmile

It was for his 2nd birthday and still uses it now at 3.5 years

I just bought a Kidvelo Balance Bike - made by the former Strider UK distributors. LO loves it! 2.9kg and alloy. Husband reckons the build is brilliant and it has proper tyres. We got it in their sale at £110.00 which i think is still on
