Renewing driving licence - passport in maiden name?!

Can anyone help with this as I’m heavily pregnant & putting it off. My driving licence expired in September & I really need to renew it but my passport is in my maiden name so it didn’t let me do it online.

Has anyone had this before? I know I’m being thick but I’m tired. Do I need a new passport before I renew it?! 🤣

I’m laughing or else I’ll cry! I’ve just gone through the whole form for it to kick me out.

Pretty sure you have to send off your marriage certificate and passport? It was a while ago I had to do mine but definitely after I was married and my passport was still in my maiden name.

I managed to do it once from a paper licence in a previous name and address (I put it off about a decade...) to a photo card so it’s definitely possible but couldn’t tell you how!

Is there an option for completing a paper form?

Last time I renewed my driving license, I also changed my name from my maiden name to my married name.
My passport was expired - and in my maiden name anyway - but I was able to get a paper renewal form from the post office, complete that and send it off to the DVLA.

Either buy a new passport ( which you may be able to do online) or just renew the licence in your maiden name. Change your name when everything is working properly again.

You might not need to renew it now. They extended any due last year for 11 months.

Get it done at a post office that will do driver’s license renewals. It what I hade to do

I renewed mine last month, my passport was in my married name driving licence birth name. You need form D1 which you can either get from the post office or download. www.gov.uk/dvlaforms.
