Bored and grumpy, so I'm cooking a Christmas dinner

On a Saturday. I'm doing a roast with pigs in blankets and yorkies. Fuck all else to do.

I'm already on the wine.

Great idea op.
We have a three bird roast in the freezer left over from Christmas. I got it out this morning and sent dh out to get some pigs in blankets so I can do an Christmas dinner tomorrow.
I may even get the crackers I bought cheap in January out.

They're not massive, and we like leftovers for a curry or stew the next day, it was good though!

I'm a Norwich fan (don't pity me) but I must admit I feel a bit bad for Klopp this week. I don't usually feel bad for the PL champion but his mum died last week and his team keeps losing since then. Poor chap.

I now need to do this at Easter, we didn't have a normal turkey dinner at Christmas because we had a restaurant meal kit delivered, which was very nice but not a traditional Christmas roast.

Plus we have some stuffing in the freezer that could do with using, but will fresh sprouts be available at Easter?

Yeah I agree op. It’s been easy for the media to forget that, and he couldn’t travel to Germany. I like Klopp, it’s just the rest of the team I’m not a fan of (literally).

Yeah, I have no interest in Liverpool in general, but the poor lad lost his mum, and I've only seen it mentioned once last week. Must be shite times for Klopp. I'd best have another wine for him

I got Tesco peeled sprouts, they're still available.

However, I always follow my grans advice and buy them early, and if there's going to be a frost I put them out overnight in a bag on the patio because she always said sprouts tasted better for being out in a frost.

May well be granny folk bollocks but I do it and they taste good!

Great idea!

Tonight I managed to convincingly recreate Taco Bell. Cheese and black bean quesadillas, homemade nachos and seasoned fries topped with cheese, black beans, jalapenos, sour cream, salsa, guacamole, onions and coriander.

I'd love a Christmas dinner but only if someone else cooked it. All my energy today has been taken up trying not to kill someone.

Do it! I did have a search for crackers from Xmas but we didn't have enough left. I did full out get the Xmas gravy boat out though, which is an occasion in this house.

We may as well do these things, we're all putting on lockdown pounds anyway. Might as well have fun!

(However we weighed ourselves this morning and discovered that DH needs to lose 3 stone and I need to lose at least 1 stone. So this is partly our last hurrah 😄)

That's an excellent idea, we recently made quesadillas via gousto for the first time and it wasn't too hard. I'll do a Mexican night this week!

(Though I add 3x the cheese than the recipe says hence being fat)

I have only just seen this thread and funnily enough we did the same - we had turkey in the freezer from Christmas as (like many people) our plans to host had to change.
