Trapped nerve - recovery?

Hi everyone just looking for some voices of experience

Nine days ago I moved a heavy box in the house (too impatient to wait for husband 😅) Didn’t feel any immediate pain but over the course of the day had pain in my right bum cheek going down my leg. It was unpleasant enough to take pain meds but not excruciating (husband herniated two discs last year so I’ve seen how bad it can be)

Since then I’ve had very little pain apart from the odd twinge but pins and needles/numbness in my right leg. The numbness got so bad I had to ring 111 who sent a ambulance, they suggested a impinged nerve and to see gp.

Saw gp yesterday, did some tests said he wasn’t concerned and I should be back on my feet in a week (have a follow up next Thursday) But Im still numb/pins and needles and I don’t feel like anyone has actually told me what they think is wrong apart from possibly a impinged nerve. Gp actually didn’t really say anything just that I would be back on my feet soon! My leg is so weak I'm exhausted by simple tasks

My husband is off work but he goes back on Monday, hes a funeral director so as you can imagine he is sadly working very long hours at the moment. I have a five year old and a fifteen year old with cerebral palsy and autism so I need to be able bodied 😅 We have no outside help

Should I be resting? Moving? I feel terrified one wrong move and my back will go off completely. Sorry for the rant I feel like I’ve just been left to get on with it.
