Does anyone have good ideas on how to improve DD’s spelling, which are, to put it mildly, poor? I’m still trying to figure out whether she doesn’t make the link between learning spellings and spelling rules to actually using them (in that, she can learn her spellings well, but the next day in a piece of writing they are all over the shop). Her reading is solid and she has no problem with recognising e.g. night/knight, one/won when reading but when she’s writing she wouldn’t always get it right.
