As the title, looking for some raunchy historical romance - regency era or similar (Jacobite, Victorian, Georgian, highlander etc)

As I guide I loved ‘mr darcy takes a wife’ although the speech does jar a bit and is obviously American written. Plenty of sex scenes.

Just read the first Bridgerton book - hates it, not enough raunchy and the story was crap and the characters didn’t stand up.

Loved the Jacobite Cronicles by Julia brannen - great story and characters. Would like something like this with more sex.

I’m new this the genre so could use some helpful recommendations please!

Brazen and the Beast by Sarah McLean is RIDICULOUS but quite possibly just what you're after Wink

See, I remember Julia Quinn being fairly filthy, but was also recommended Mary Balogh for this sort of thing.
Or you could just go for a regency mills and boon for full on trash. Grin

I can happily read ‘ridiculous’ but I would love a good, well researched story with plenty of steamy fun! Too much to ask?!

Is there any smut in Forever Amber? I know it was considered raunchy in the 1950s but was that just down to descriptions of heaving bosoms rather than swarthy men rustling about in women's petticoats?

Stephanie Laurens could be what you're looking for.

oh for the Bar Cynster fans self

Have you tired the Outlander books?

Martinisarebetterdirty · 19/02/2021 22:01

The other bridgerton books are a bit raunchier but not unadulterated filth. There is also a bit of raunchy in Julia Quinn’s other books

Will look up Stephanie laurens...

Haven’t read outlander so will check that out.

I really didn’t get on with the story and writing style of Bridgerton - story was rushed and it just didn’t feel genuine regency to me, no urge to read the others.
