I may be a bit late to the party, but I just got an air fryer - give me all your best tips!

I'm a little too excited about this! Already planning to do homemade chips tonight, roast potatoes on Sunday, and pretty much everything the kids eat (they don't eat much that doesn't come from the freezerHmm). Also later in the week, roasted peppers, roasted butternut squash, so many options! What else can I do? Anything I should avoid?

Can't wait for some ideas. We've just got one too

honkifyourtired · 19/02/2021 17:43

I got one for Christmas and I use it for everything. Absolute game changer.

Halloumi fries.
Sausages
Chicken breast
Potatoes
As you said kids freezer food comes out much better.
Toasties
Home made chicken nuggets
Breaded Brie

I even cooked my steak in there, I do have it medium well though!

Chicken breast, little bit of oil, some garlic and herb seasoning, omg it's so juicy and yummy

Spring rolls. Get the pastry and fill it yourself, or buy them from Aldi. Yum.

Donatella · 19/02/2021 20:42

Probably should have mentioned I'm vegetarian Grin but the spring rolls sound good, I'll remember that one!

Following as would love some new ideas!

Lookingforwardto2021 · 19/02/2021 20:45

Broccoli with salt and pepper (put some water at the bottom of air fryer first), cauliflower fritters, onion bhaji, carrot batons crisped yonperfe toon, Brussels sprouts then tossed with salt, chilli and ginger

Lookingforwardto2021 · 19/02/2021 20:45

Congratulations! I love mine

alpinia · 19/02/2021 20:47

A local take out to me does baked potatoes, presumably in the oven or something, then cuts them in to wedges, sprinkles on some garlic powder, salt and pepper then puts them in the air fryer.

The things are magic and I'm tempted to buy an air fryer just to recreate them.

Lookingforwardto2021 · 19/02/2021 20:49

True, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pretty much every veg is magic with an air fryer 😊

I also do salt and pepper tofu in it. Lush

trilbydoll · 19/02/2021 20:49

Anything you can put in the oven comes out nicer Grin except pizza maybe!

BeatricePrior · 19/02/2021 20:54

Is it worth getting one? I'm on the fence? I want one but I'm also a bit what would I use it for??

Alwaysraining2 · 19/02/2021 20:57

Chip shop chips - buy double the amount and refrigerate them. Pop them in the air fryer the next day and they will be even better than the day you bought them. Divine!

dollygoo · 19/02/2021 21:06

Op we bought one for Christmas and eat mainly vegan/ vegetarian food. Tofu cooks so well in this. Chips and roast potatoes are amazing in it also. Pastry items etc. Roasted vegetables

Donatella · 19/02/2021 21:09

Will it do things like roasted peppers/courgettes/aubergine/mushrooms that usually create a lot of liquid?

OP posts:
Lookingforwardto2021 · 19/02/2021 21:11

Yes, I do all if these and they are delish! Don’t like the texture of air fryer aubergine though, I prefer it steamed and then dressed
