Pregnancy Confusion

Hi Everyone, I’m feeling slightly deflated and upset after a early ultrasound today. (Long story incoming)

I have irregular cycles so have been tracking my ovulation for many months with the Clearblue digital tracker. I had peak ovulation on the 11th Jan 2021, I began to have sore breast on the 21stish of Jan, I then had a Clearblue digital positive pregnancy test on the 28th Jan stating 2-3 (meaning conceived 2-3 weeks ago 4-5 pregnant) I then did another standard pregnancy test on the 2nd Feb, clear positive, and another yesterday, another clear positive.

This morning I had a early reassurance scan but only measured @ 5 weeks 6 days, everything looks ok, couldn’t detect a heartbeat as could be to early. Going back a week today to see if any growth and heartbeat.

This has really thrown me as the dates the Dr measured are 12 days less than I originally thought. I thought I was 7 weeks 5 days (worked out from ovulation), I can’t help but think I may have had a silent miscarried as the ovulation dates and pregnancy indicator all add up to later dates.

I thought the Clearblue saying 2-3 weeks meant you were 2-3 weeks pregnant? I don’t think you add on an extra couple of weeks although happy to be corrected.

At this stage it's so tiny it's hard to be accurate. I had an early scan to rule out ectopic, was at least 7 weeks by my dates but measured between 5-6 and yolk sac but no fetal pole. By 12 week scan had caught up and he's 10 weeks old now

I hope you get the news you want Thanks

Well Crunchymum I stand corrected! It’s been a while...

How stressful for you. I agree it seems a lot to be out but remember that the difference in the measurement is just a few mm at this stage and very easy to make a mistake.

I hope you get reassuring news next week.

Hi OP - I measured a week earlier than expected at my reassurance scan, I'm now 35 weeks. I thought I was 8 weeks from my dates but was measuring 7 or just under, they didn't give me exact estimates as was too early. Your next scan will come by soon enough to reassure you and before you know it, you'll be 5 weeks away from popping! Try and just take it easy in the meantime

Thank you everyone, this is all reassuring, I’m trying not to stress as I heard it’s quite common, it’s nice to hear from others who have experienced the same issues!

Update... I went back for another scan after a week today, the baby had only grown by 2 days and no heart beat detected, looks like a missed miscarriage unfortunately. Going for a scan at the hospital on Sunday to get it confirmed. Sad times but I guess it just wasn’t the right time for us!
