OMG I am bored

Doyoumind · 19/02/2021 11:39

Don't come at me with loads of ideas of what I could be doing with my time. I am not short of ideas.

I'm supposed to be working. I am so bored of sitting in the same small room, talking to the same small group of people day in day out with very little other contact with the outside world. I'm tired of preparing every meal.

I know it's Friday but it's dragging!

I know me too, about to go for bike ride in a minute too. I’m going to order a new book for my kindle today, I haven’t read for months but I’m so bored of watching Netflix I have to!

Lindy2 · 19/02/2021 11:46

I'm with you. I'm supposed to be working too but I just can't get motivated this week at all. It doesn't help that DH has the week off work as we were supposed to be on holiday for half term. I decided to work this week which was probably a mistake.

Even off work though I just can't get interested in anything or motivated to go anywhere.

I'm really hoping as the weather starts to improve I'll feel more like my usual self and actually want to go out for a walk again, or do some stuff in the garden.

This winter lockdown is very, very hard and it does feel endless right now. I'm just hanging in there and getting through one day at a time.

FirstPost99 · 19/02/2021 12:14

Me too. Im a sahm, so I don't even have work to do but I'm sick of playing kids games, crafts, making endless meals, even bloody walks. Also 6 months pregnant and so tired but feel sorry for the DC

Doyoumind · 19/02/2021 12:58

I'm glad I don't have little ones, just primary age DC. I could cope with playing games and doing crafts for a certain amount of time but it must be unbearable by now.

Same.

I am so bored I can’t even think of what else to write.

Sittinbythetree · 19/02/2021 13:00

I’m sitting on my car with the radio on for thrills. Not going anywhere, just pretending.

MarcelineMissouri · 19/02/2021 13:00

Me too. It’s raining. The kids have been playing on the switch since they got up. I can’t be bothered to do anything. I am so fed up of having nothing fun to do.

IliveonCoffee · 19/02/2021 13:06

I am overly excited to be swapping our bedroom with our spare/computer room, this weekend.

It means I will have a slightly different white wall to look at and a view of the back garden rather than the front road.

Stupid as it sounds, I definitely think I'm going to be more productive at work. I have literally spent a year on the same spot, bar a couple of exciting adventures into the cold conservatory while we had the plumber in for the boiler.

I've struggled with not seeing people though, I never went out that much but its been ages since I've seen a proper face.

beela · 19/02/2021 13:22

I'm really bored. I've got loads to do (well, the house needs tidying) but I can't be arsed and I'm scrolling mindlessly through my phone instead.

WorryingMum2029 · 19/02/2021 13:27

Same!! Just cannot be arsed anymore. Every morning it’s up, make breakfast, work/home school, make lunch, work some more, make dinner then go to bed.

I manage to do 1/2 minutes if work before my attention wanders.

Noidea2114 · 19/02/2021 13:29

My teenage granddaughters tell me they are bored of being bored.

CodMouth · 19/02/2021 13:30

Same here. I keep starting movies, shutting them off, starting a crochet project, unravelling it, I learnt to knit the other day so I keep knitting squares then unravelling them too. I have little motivation at the moment.

Dinky2004 · 19/02/2021 13:34

I have now reached the point where I am bored of being bored
I always dreamt of having days where I could lay and read for hours or just watch crap on tv but all I want now is to never see another book or bloody tv again!!

imapenguinlover · 19/02/2021 14:27

This is the lifeline I needed to find. I'm getting more and more flat as the days go on, just sitting about, making coffee doing fuck all while the kids are loving life on the Xbox 🤷‍♀️ i thought I was the only one!

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 19/02/2021 14:30

Same! The dc’s screen time is horrendous at the moment - but at least they seem happy and entertained- I’m bored out of my brain !! Maybe I need to take up Minecraft !!?? Grin

TweeterandtheMonkeyman · 19/02/2021 14:32

X post @imapenguinlover glad I’m not the only one with lockdown loving gaming kids !!

refusetobeasheep · 19/02/2021 14:37

Currently totally re-designing my garden but still bored. Bored of everything on TV / netflix. Worryingly even bored of podcasts now. haven't been able to motivate myself at work for two weeks now. Just so bored. And bored. Did I mention I'm a tad bored?

refusetobeasheep · 19/02/2021 14:42

ooh - but of excitement : just had a text from ocado saying Hug will be delivering my shop in lemon van. Hug! Will we? Can we? No, bored again.

MsOgyny · 19/02/2021 14:49

SO bored. We start the days just staring at each other and at the house, and thinking "what the hell are we going to find to do today"... we've done every craft I can think of, multiple times, we've baked more than any family can consume, our walks are limited by toddler legs and pace, so we never get further than the same few streets... we're so bored of every toy and game, we've come up with multiple new uses for every item we own, and STILL HERE WE ARE, trying to find more ways to entertain 4 under 6s... I stuck TV on earlier to get a break, and they watched one episode of something and then turned it off themselves and looked at me with these big expectant eyes.

It used to be that I would have to battle them to turn it off, now I find myself weeping and saying "why did you turn it off?! Turn it back on, for the love of God please turn the tv back on"...

Crunchymum · 19/02/2021 15:12

I can't use the B word out loud as I've told my 6yo "only boring people get bored" every, single time she's told me how bored she is at least 100 times a day this lockdown.

But I'm so fucking mindnumbingly bored I could scream. Or cry. Or both.

The tedium of everything is oppressive.

Doesn't help that I'm trying to give up alcohol (for 100 days!) And I've now added a sugar ban for lent. I may not have thought this through properly Grin

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 19/02/2021 15:16

Ok its boring but ...I've been jumping up doing 5 min work outs a couple of times a day . Google " fit in 5" , and I'm seeing results.
But yes it's boring. So ,so boring . Ive watched everything on telly ,I'm bored of books. Bored of taking ds to the park.

I might cut and dye my own hair next week even if it comes out rubbish it will be a bit exciting

Themostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 19/02/2021 15:31

So so bored! There is stuff I could do like bake but I just can't be bothered.

Thank heavens DS is back at school next week as at least his life will become more interesting bless him.

Caesargeezer · 19/02/2021 17:14

I could have written this myself today. I’ve taken to cleaning in absolute desperation.

Doyoumind · 19/02/2021 17:20

I think it has something to do with half term coming to an end and only the prospect of more work whilst home schooling to look forward to Sad

OP posts:
Whattodo121 · 19/02/2021 17:30

I’m so bloody bored. Half term here of course, DS bored senseless, endless hours of YouTube about bloody cars. Supposed to be moving house so our house is half packed and in absolute sodding chaos. I am so bored of the park, the rain; everything. Had to do some work this afternoon and actually quite enjoyed it as it was at least something to think about that wasn’t emptying the dishwasher. DH still gets to leave the house to go to work, lucky bastard, AND his job is in central london so he gets to get nice takeaway coffees and chat to lots of different people.

Bastard!
