Bit of a strange one...childhood memory

I've name changed purely because I've been having this conversation irl too and said I'd ask here.
In the 90s, our Christmas tradition was to go see Fenwick's window in Newcastle, then pop inside and we would get a special treat. I always chose a bathbomb, they were massive and filled with bath pearls and glitter and rose petals, and the whole room smelt amazing.
One year they weren't there anymore. I was disappointed but shrugged it off and picked something else, and completely forgot about them.
For some reason the memory came back to me recently, but the trouble is, I cant remember what make they were and can't find any sign of their existence on Google etc.
Did I imagine it?
Does anyone else remember?
Bonus points if you know the brand cause I could really do with a massive slice of nostalgia!

Crossed my mind that it could have been lush but I can't find anything to suggest that.
They were literally the best I've ever had.
Please tell me I'm not mad 😂 I was under 10 but I'm convinced I'm remembering right 🤣

Hmm lived in Newcastle all my life and always went to see Fenwicks window (still do) was it definitely in Fenwicks? Sounds more like a body shop thing?

Socuriousaboutbathbombs · 18/02/2021 21:53

Definitely in Fenwick's. We never went in body shop, mam had an aversion to the smell of it for some reason

Was only a small area. There was other Christmas stuff in the other side of the room. They were loose in trays and you put them in paper bags to pay at a little till on a boxed in podium type thing

Cosmetics to go were the company before they turned into lush and they used to do some amazing bath bombs. So fun. I remember they would have flower petals but not bath Pearl's in them (unless you added them yourself separately?)
They were postal only a think unless they had a few outlets??

Socuriousaboutbathbombs · 18/02/2021 22:03

Didn't add them myself they were ready made. Wonderful colours. Possibility about an outlet.

Fenwick's window started the year I was born. My dgm worked in the toy department.. She always knew well in advance what the theme would be. I felt very privileged to be told before anyone else!! (prob all the staff told their families!). Still brings back lovely memories just even going to the shop.
My dgm worked there for years. Never used a lift. She was still sprightly in her 70 's!! All those stairs I imagine!!
I do remember paper bagged smellies at Christmas..

I remember what you are taking about but I can’t help with the make. But I too have magical memories of Fenwick window and the panto at the Theatre Royal.

I took my DS there at Christmas this year .... he loved it as much as I did.

Socuriousaboutbathbombs · 18/02/2021 22:17

I'm pleased others remember. How was Newcastle at Christmas? I didn't dare go.

Me and adult dd went one day in mid December.. It was empty.. Photos in local news showed it busy on the week ends. No atmosphere.. Lots of security patrol ensuring visitors kept to the covid rules and marked out walking directions etc.
