This is unexpected money and bills and general living are already budgeted for.

@ConsuelaHammock yes we do. We've always been very sensible with money and due to the insecure nature of DHs work we save as much as we can every month. This money is totally separate and I definitely won't spend it for the sake of it but, for once, I'd like to spend it on something I want rather than something I need 😁

In that case but something you’d love. A beautiful painting , a piece of jewellery or furniture. An expensive handbag ? Something just for you which will make you smile .

Pay it into the mortgage.

Do up the garden, at the very least a new shed, a lick of paint on the fence and maybe a greenhouse as I've wanted one for ages but been too scared DC or windy weather would break it.

I’d buy myself a whole new wardrobe.
