What are we doing for Mothers' Day then?

I have just informed DH that I am requesting all the things for Mothers' Day. I deserve presents, treats, yummy food and waiting on hand and foot. Goodness there's FA else to look forward to.

So what are we doing then? Obvs money permitting- I'm dreaming with some of this shit.

I'm thinking of a lie in, then fresh croissants and pastries for breakfast. Then a beautiful spring walk. I will be given a lovely leather bag and cards from the children telling me how bloody great I am. Then I will have a cream tea mid afternoon with some form of fancy dinner with fizz later in the eve.

I clicked in hoping for ideas for MIL Grin She keeps saying she doesn’t want anything but a hug, but it seems massively unlikely that she’ll be able to have that, or even that we’ll be able to see her...

Usually she doesn’t want gifts, so we take her for a meal. We paid for a meal to be delivered to their house for Christmas, from a restaurant they love, but they haven’t used it yet... I suppose it’ll have to be flowers.

I hope you have a lovely day! I’m just posting to pump this for you, really.

Off to Google when it is.... Blush

I'm thinking some lovely spring flowers from a local florist for your MIL and a picnic somewhere lovely if we are allowed... with a cream tea.

Thank you for bumping me @SendMeHome GrinGrin

14thMarch I think.

Nothing. Both sets of parents are dead, and I doubt that DD would remember it. She is a student, and up to her eyes in work.

I'm hoping i can see my mum. We are a support bubbles but decided better to not see each other while things were really bad but she's had the vaccine now . Might do some kind of afternoon tea if we do.

I’ve been wondering exactly this.

Not for myself, luckily I have great DH and older DC, but for my own mum. Can’t see her, don’t know if I’ll even be able to go and wave in the garden yet.

Have bought her a flowers subscription already. Not sure what else to get. She has food issues and is very difficult to buy for. Would love to do something to make it special.

I haven't seen my mum since Christmas 2019. I can't believe it's been that long.

Now I feel selfish! It's not all about me obviously Grin
