Waiting for GP to call, would you call them

A GP appointment was arranged last week. The receptionist called me and attached it for today; said doctor will call me this morning. I've been waiting all morning, feeling anxious and have not had a call yet. I need to go out shortly and really don't want to be having this call when I'm out.

Would you call surgery and just check I'm still on the list for today, don't want to wait all day and they have forgot about me (it's happened before!) but then don't want to feel like I'm mivering them

Their morning might mean their 'morning surgery' times rather than the normal definition of morning so I think I'd wait til 1pm tbh (that's when ours goes into non-surgery mode for an hour, then there's an afternoon surgery).

Morning at my GP surgery means any time before 2pm. If it'll put your mind at rest though give them a call.

Thank you. I'll wait maybe another hour. I just work myself for it and had a knot/sickly feeling in my stomach all morning waiting for the call.

I know what you mean OP, I hate talking on the phone and I medical appointments aren't fun at the best of times. Fingers crossed you're not far off the top of the call list now.

That’s rubbish. I always get the 9am slot with my gp and he calls about ten to the last few times so it’s handy to get it out of the way sharp. Call them and check you’ve not been missed though just in case our am surgery runs 8-11. I’m back in this afternoon with my son now though. Deep joy

Just called, I'm still on the list for today, but they can't give a time. Hate waiting around feeling like this Sad

I’m sorry you’re feeling anxious about it. Our surgery also runs 8.30-1pm so ‘morning’ isn’t over yet.

I checked, it turned out that they'd transposed a digit in my phone number when I registered and when I'd corrected it for the DC they hadn't updated mine and I hadn't thought to check before...
