How stupid am I? Wrong lyrics

For years I have been singing the beachboys song Barbara Ann wrong.
The lyrics go
Barbara Ann hold my hand.....
I have been singing it
Barbara Ann she is a man........
I mean why? It's obviously not the lyrics.
This isn't the only song that has got the wrong lyrics.
Please tell me I'm not the only one.

My partner found out last week that the titanic song was not about love birds called ‘heart doves’

There is a song where the chorus includes a couple of repetitions of "Watch away, watch away". I always heard it as , "What you weigh, what you weigh". In my defence, I was going to Fat Class at the time, and obsessed somewhat fixated on my weight

How on earth did I miss hear that for years?
