How can I ditch my Yahoo email when it is used so widely?

I have two gmail email addresses, and one yahoo I have had the longest. Somewhere along the line it's been discovered and is now on the dark web.

I've been receiving lots of phishing emails using this email.

So I want to ditch it and use the gmails, but there seems no way to change this on various sites where it's lodged and it's also a rescue email in several places.

Mammoth task but where do i start and how do I change it. I don't just want to change the passwords, but there doesn't seem a way of changing the email.

If by change it you mean delete your account, that’s possible. But there’s no way to change the actual email address, thought the sites you’ve registered to should allow you to either change your email to one you do use or let you create a new account with a new email address.

What kind of sites won't allow you to change the email? If it's things like banks and electrical companies, might be a case of messaging them through email and making the enquiry on your yahoo address.

If it's sign up places, just unsubscribe and resubscribe

Happened to me too.
I just totally deleted the account and changed my email address where I could or reregistered.
