Position 1 Council Housing - Waiting to be offered?

Hello everyone,

Basically, I have been bidding council properties and my position has been getting lower and lower, thank goodness.

Bidding opens 00:00 Fridays to 23:59 sundays. At 23:59 on Sunday I was postion 1 for both of my bids. Since then, I have logged in every day and have seen that my position for both is still 1. My rent and everything is in check, I've read my council allocation policy, should be no reason for me not to recieve an offer once I'm the highest ranked bidder.

My question is: Does anyone know how long it normally takes to get offered a property when you are the successful bidder? How long after your bid was you offered the propety?

I'm just concerned that bidding opens again at midnight on Thursday and I don't know if I should bid or not

Any help would be appreciate, thank you :)

I would give them a call if bidding has ended and you are position 1. They usually start working through the list the day after .
I was 12th when I got offered my property and i didn't get a call for 3 weeks

Good luck

Thank you sickofturkey

Did you continue to bid in those 3 weeks?

Really annoying, the team I need cannot run a phone service "due to covid-19" so, I have sent an email today, hopefully they respond to me before tomorrow when bidding opens at midnight!

Yeah I continued to bid in that time , once they progress your application they suspend you from bidding on anything else

If your number 1 that indicates your in high priority and desperately need rehousing therefore they shouldn't be surprised if you are chasing them up.

Hello everyone hopefully I will get some help this is my first time here
so me and my husband and my 10 month son just changed the band in the housing from band 3 to band 2 A and in the same day we bided for houses we were 1 in one property and 2 in 2 other properties and next day the bidding closed and we were still in the same positions and on next Friday we bided again but we were like 200 and 300 I don’t know why I’m confused does that mean that we’re gonna get the property we were 1 at or not and when can we expect a call from them
my husband was in waiting list for 13 years now
so if you anyone can explain the next step to me and how it works
thanks everyone
