Any recommendations please? I've had an awful blocked nose after a runny one the last few days & need some remedies.

Definitely otrivine.

Be wary of these nasal sprays - it is very easy to form a dependence. They are only ok for a few days, after that they have the opposite effect and make you feel bunged, so you use it again and again

@Lindy2can I ask how it developed & how long you were i'll?

The first week was like a head cold with blocked sinuses. I also had blocked ears.

It was fairly mild and I thought I'd got away with not being particularly ill as after a week I was feeling better.

Unfortunately the day after starting to feel better I went down with gastric symptoms of diarrhoea and dreadful nausea. I couldn't eat for several days and felt very very rough and very tired. I needed antibiotics to help sort out my ears which possibly got infected from the blocked sinuses.

It's 3 weeks since my positive result and I am now feeling much better. About 90% normal now and getting better each day.

It was pretty grim but thankfully my breathing was never a problem.

Covid does seem to be completely different for everyone though. My DH was also positive - he gave it to me. He got quite ill quite quickly with headache, head cold symptoms and diarrhoea but then when he started to recover he felt better much quicker than I did. He is also feeling almost normal again now too.

DH's colleague, who gave it to him, had a bit of a cold for a few days and then was absolutely fine.

It really is a bizarre illness so even if you do test positive it doesn't mean you are going to feel particularly ill.

Put the middle of your palm in the very tip of your nose. Rub slowly in clockwise circle 20 times then reverse and do the same anticlockwise. Doesn't last long but foes offer temporary relief. I feel your pain, I've just started a course of antibiotics for a recurring sinus infection.

Otrivine is great. Use for a few days and then stop, else you may get rebound effects. It works really well though

Another vote for otrivine

I think the generic stuff is probably ok but you sound like you need something more medicinal over the counter.
Btw try an antihistamine as that can take down inflammation in nasal passages too as a starting point.
Update with test results if can , would be interesting to know.
