Driving lessons in London - give me a baseline

Hoping to buy my niece a course of driving lessons for her 18th at the end of this year - could anybody tell me roughly how much I should expect to pay for about 25 (so c. 50hrs, I guess), including a theory and practical test?

Not London but we paid £30 for an hours lesson. Theory test is £23 and test was £62 plus hire of car.

My DD had 20 lessons. We are in the Midlands.

Plus £34 for provisional licence.

Thank you!

I’m in London and it’s £30 an hour with my instructor but he does 2 hour lessons as standard, so £60 a pop. He discounts to £56 if booking 10 or more.

I'm in London and restarted learning after moving down here for me I bought a block with red driving school at £20 a lesson and I wont take long to finish when I can start up again got money aside so far for tests and abit towards a car atm, my grandparents kindly gave me 200 at christmas to buy a block to finish lessons

There is a big backlog with tests that were already booked before they closed from allowing anymore bookings.

Prices for lessons vary although I think instructors will have an advantage to put prices up given people waiting to learn to drive. Usually all offer discount if block buy 10lessons but always try the instructor first for 1lesson

I had some lessons in London and some in Norfolk last year and passed my test in London in feb 2020. I had automatic lessons, which are usually a couple of pounds more per hour. In Norfolk it was £30ph and in London £28. Also, driving instructors like you to book 2 hour lessons and I was having two of those a week. They often do deals on blocks, so you might get money off for 10 hours.
