iPhone update taking ages

Graphista · 16/02/2021 14:19

I know it's my fault for not updating before now I've been very nervous about doing so.

I've bitten the bullet and decided to do it this afternoon...4 hours remaining!

Is this normal/ok? Admittedly it's going from iOS 12 to 14 - again mea culpa

I don't mind it taking a while as long as it is working correctly and I'm not gonna lose stuff.

Reassure me please?

And yes, lesson learnt, next time there's an update I'll sort it sooner!

This is why you do it overnight Grin

Oh really? Until now everyone's been telling me "it only takes 10 mins" inc Apple!

Now saying flipping 5 hours!!

To explain I wasn't keen on doing overnight as I use it as an alarm clock and while I don't currently work I've recently "cracked" many years of insomnia and being awake same time every day has really been key to that!

It's doing a bit better healthwise has motivated me to get certain life things finally sorted!

Sometimes the time starts high then jumps down to a more normal time for an update.

Make sure it's charged up or charging while you do the update.

Its on charge, it's almost always on charge I hate being without my phone. Down to mins/seconds now
