What time is lunchtime??

I'm expecting someone to phone me at lunchtime. I thought it would be around 12, but i'm still waiting.

Lighthearted thread, as I understand things may have help them up, but i'm just wondering if my idea of lunchtime is slightly off. Grin

TheWristBoundLatexBitch · 16/02/2021 12:56

Between 12-2

Mojitomogul · 16/02/2021 12:57

For me around 1 to 2 Smile

BarbaraofSeville · 16/02/2021 12:57

Probably between 12 and 2, but could be as early as 11 am if you're going by the time that McDonalds switches over to burgers or as late as about 4 if you're asking a Spanish person.

AdaColeman · 16/02/2021 12:59

Between noon and 2pm would be lunchtime for me.

Between 12 and 2.

Whatthebloodyell · 16/02/2021 13:01

I’d expect that call between 12-2.

Chihuahuacat · 16/02/2021 13:04

I normally have lunch at 12:30 but would expect the call between 12 and 2

AprilThe8th · 16/02/2021 13:16

Between 12 and 1

itssquidstella · 16/02/2021 13:21

Between 12-2. 12 feels early for lunch; I would normally eat at around 1 or 1.30.

GetTheGoodLookingGuy · 16/02/2021 13:26

In the Sims 2 (which is the only version of Sims worth knowing about), lunch foods and the options to serve lunch are available on the fridge between 10:30 and 16:30.

When my brothers were at preschool they were insistent that 12:12 was lunchtime, as they finished preschool at 12:00 and that was the time they got home and had lunch. They're nineteen now, and we still say "12:12 - lunchtime" if we see the time on a clock.

1.10pm when DS is in online school as that's what time he breaks for lunch. When he's in actual school I eat around 12.30 as we get up a lo earlier.

Afromeg · 16/02/2021 13:33

2pm. Our main meals are (unofficially) spaced 5 hours apart.

However, if I tell someone I'd ring them at lunchtime or someone tells me they would at lunchtime, I'd still think between 12noon and 1pm because that's what I've noticed most people's lunchtime is here.

PaperMonster · 16/02/2021 13:36

12 noon to 1.30 I’d say.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 16/02/2021 13:38

At home during the week it's 12.30-1.30 as that is when DHs lunch break at work is (he comes for lunch, his office is 5mins walk)

I believe their school lunch break is now 11.30-1.30 as there as four slots in the playgrounds and lunch hall. Used to be 12-1.

AaronPurr · 16/02/2021 13:39

Seems as though the majority are saying 12 - 2. I guess if i've still not had a call by 2.30 then I can get on with my day and stop checking the phone every 5 minutes. Grin

Although the poster who mentioned the sims made me laugh, 10.30 is insanely early, but at least if it were the sims I could speed up time.

If sims are eating together, they can easily take 3 hours over a bowl of cereal. If I want them to get off to work and school on time they have to eat in relay.

I guess in real life there's time between meals where it's not any meal time, but in Sims it always has to be one mealtime or another, hence the weirdly timed cut offs...
