Can anyone help me with Fortnite before I lose my mind

I’m looking to buy fortnite for Xbox one. I thought I’d just order the game but I can’t see to find it (apart from a last laugh version). Do I download it? I just want the normal one, or the most popular. Just whatever everyone plays really! If yes it’s download only, is it just a normal Xbox gift card I get (it’s for a gift) for them to download?

I may sound stupid and I promise I’ve googled but I can’t get my head around it!
If anyone can offer a bit of help or a idiots guide that’ll be great.

Download it directly from the Microsoft store on the Xbox. You will need a Microsoft online account to play it.

You can buy a Microsoft gift card and the recipient can then download it too

Right great thanks. So I just buy a normal Xbox gift card and they can download it? It doesn’t have to be a special one? And can I get a voucher for v bucks as well, is that separate or can I use a normal Xbox gift card as well?

Then it costs you a fortune in v bucks!

Battle Royale is free, Save the World is not.
But the player will need Microsoft Gold which can be bought in monthly/yearly subscriptions. Yearly is the most cost effective

Anything they need can be bought via a gift card and then they can choose what they want to download but the V-Bucks can get costly.

Fortnite is free to download. A X Box gift card could be used to purchase V Bucks.
