Coming out of lockdown

Just hearing that schools will reopen 8th March and it’s got me nervous, even though I’m sick and tired of homeschooling and being stuck at home.

I feel incredibly anxious, like I’ve lost my personality and social skills.

I’m not afraid of covid, I’m afraid of how to live life.

Anyone else anxious?

OP posts:

I think it's normal to be anxious. Living mostly at home for a year, with few social interactions, has been terribly difficult for all of us.

I think step by step, as things improve; you'll be able to address your anxiety and eventually you'll leave it behind and be back to normal

I do worry I have to say though, about the government making a mess of the lockdown exit strategy...

So do l.

They don’t seem to be even considering this new variable, especially in schools. It’ll just lead to another lockdown again

That's my worry. I wish they could take good measures in school eg use rotas and then reopen properly

I think a lot people will be like this OP, so at least you won't be the only one finding it hard to reintegrate back into normal life. Anxiety is horrible isn't it Flowers

8th March eh?

The South African variant has just arrived in my area. Nice timing.

Dementedswan · 14/02/2021 14:44

Are you in the North east bellropes? My area is still 190/100,000 and now the south African variety has been found up here. It doesn't feel safe at all.

chocolateisavegetable · 14/02/2021 15:30

The South African variant has just arrived here too (not North East)

bellropes · 14/02/2021 18:06

@Dementedswan Yes, I'm NE.

mootymoo · 14/02/2021 18:07

Seems our variant has mutated the same as the s African anyway - they are working on a booster

Dementedswan · 14/02/2021 19:02

Yes, but do I want my dc exposed? No. Do I want them to think they have brought the virus home to both their vulnerable parents who haven't yet received a vaccine? No. I know what's better for their mental health.. waiting a few weeks until their parents are vaccinated. They have no one, other than us .
