Not coping at work

We have to wear masks and visors now and I'm really struggling with the visors. I'm severely claustrophobic and the combination is too much. I wear glasses too and everything steams up. I literally had to step outside and take it all off today because I felt like I wasn't getting any air.

(I KNOW others have to wear full PPE and such but I'm not in the medical field - I work in hospitality!)

My store manager isn't interested - he just tells me I have to wear it. What's worse is we're reopening to customers in the next couple of weeks and I'm fucking dreading it.

I hate it so much I feel like handing my notice in.

Sorry, not sure where I'm going with this - please don't be harsh. I'm anxious enough.

I felt like this in the beginning. I dislike anything over my nose and mouth, it used to make me panic like you wouldn’t believe.

But I am almost a year on, and wearing full PPE is second nature, so much so when I get home i forget I’m still wearing a mask until I need to eat or drink.

Try not to worry, you will take a wee while to get used to it but it will be okay. Don’t give up your job if you love it otherwise.

The glasses thing is annoying, but again you get used to it, I find if my mask is worn nice and high I don’t steam up so much. My colleagues swear by baby wipes to clean their glasses. I haven’t felt the need yet to try it.

You can do this, it’ll all be okay.

The mask is fine and I have no problem with that. Its just the visor that I can't deal with. I literally dread wearing it and that's not getting better.
