Hi all. my partner has sat and drunk half a big bottle of vodka tonight whilst just watching tv . I never even noticed until he was slurring all over the place and when I joked about it he got very defensive saying he didn't care . How would you feel if it was your partner ?

Pre Covid, unhappy. Post Covid more Accepting.

But it's not how it makes me feel, it's how it makes you feel.

I would not be impressed. Is this a regular occurrence?

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 13/02/2021 00:10

Depends if it's a regular thing or a one off?

Is/was he enjoying it it just drinking to get drunk?

Mother2princess · 13/02/2021 00:14

If its a one off I'd accept it

TheChip · 13/02/2021 00:16

Why? I'd wonder why. What are your thoughts on it, OP? Is this random, or does he like a drink?

WorraLiberty · 13/02/2021 00:21

Not enough info

Is it a one-off or regular?

Why were you 'joking' about it if it bothers you?

TheChip · 13/02/2021 00:24

Which part has bothered you. Him drinking, or him getting defensive?

Molly333 · 13/02/2021 01:02

I feel uncomfortable more so because he was very defensive and he has taken to making very big drinks for himself of late (my ex aassaulted me badly once when drunk too) . I just wanted to get away from him :(

I can completely understand that. Drunk people scare me too for the same reasons. Does he know this? Take yourself off to bed to watch TV if you can. It might take your mind off it and you won't be around him feeling as anxious Flowers
