Please help, I need to buy for an 8year old girl but I have a boy so really have no clue what she might be into.
If you have an 8 year old girl, what kind of things does she like (I realise this question all depends as all kids are different).
Thanks for the recommendations peeps.

Lego, Harry Potter, sword fighting, Pokemon, paint by numbers, craft, science kits, jigsaw puzzles, drawing (e.g. massive pack of decent colouring pencils), reading.

NotWithMyShoes · 12/02/2021 21:28

Oh, and sequin art.

Lego, Harry Potter, sewing kits, how-to-draw books, Amelia Fang or Marge In Charge books, spy stuff eg pens you can read under ultra Violet light, LOL dolls, nail varnish, The Phoenix magazine.

Instaglam makeup , hair chalk, make your own bead bracelet/necklace, slime, pixalo pen.

DD is almost 8, she likes Lego, particularly Lego Friends & Lego Dots, nice stationery especially something like a writing set or a diary. Anything that might be perceived as a bit grown up like Lush bath bombs or lip balms.

My 8 year old likes-

Lego friends
Sylvalian families
Our generation dolls
Scratch art books/sets
Sharpies, gel pens, brush pens, scented pencils
Glitter tattoo sets
Tie dye sets

These are good generic gifts but i would find out who she likes on youtube and get some merch. Mine would love that. Or if she likes tiktok etc maybe a jumper sith the logo on

I really think you should ask her parents because the last answer just shows how different 8 yr olds are! Tiktok?! At 8? I didn't realise mine were so sheltered. Her 11 yr old sister doesn't even have tiktok.

Anyway, my dd is nearly 8 and I agree about the Lego friends Lego. Loves stationary and bath stuff. Hair scrunchies etc. Nail varnish. We had lots of fun growing things from seed last year too.

Norwayreally · 12/02/2021 22:24

My 8 year old DD loves drawing so sketch books and pencils are always a hit plus paints, colouring pencils and craft sets. Bath bombs always go down well as do books and she likes TY beanie babies.

Norwayreally · 12/02/2021 22:24

Oh and my 8 year old definitely isn’t allowed anywhere near tiktok so don’t do that.

Shock she's 8! This : Tiktok?! At 8? I didn't realise mine were so sheltered. Her 11 yr old sister doesn't even have tiktok. neither of mine have free access to YouTube either.

Things DD is into:

Playmobil
Aqua beads
ScruffaLuv toy
Binoculars or walkie talkies
Art supplies or craft kits
Barbies
Lego

SexyGiraffe · 13/02/2021 05:54

Lego dots stuff is quite cool

ILoveMyMonkey · 13/02/2021 09:03

Thanks everyone for the great ideas. It’s a kid from his class at school (having a zoom party) so doesn’t need to be too tailored, generic is fine/
