filling gaps in kitchen counter

I'm posting here as i had posted in DIY but no one replied.

In our kitchen we have an old specimen cabinet as a kitchen island. The counter top is oak boards and gaps have appeared where they join as my kitchen is very warm. Can I ask how best to fill them? I’m worried that wood filler may split or maybe not look great - if filler was recommended then any particular brand?
Thanks in anticipation

Yes! There is a special wood glue/ filler thing made exactly for this. It's available at screwfix. I'll see if I can find it.

I believe you can mix sawdust with PVA and use that to fill the gaps? Might be worth a Google.
