Egyptian Cotton Bedding

I ordered some 400 Thread count Egyptian Cotton Bedding recently but when it arrived I realised it had a "Sateen" shiny finish I didn't like. Checked the listing details, no mention of the Sateen finish so asked to return.
The vendor claimed that it's 400 thread count that's the finish but I'm sure my old (thrown out as it had finally fallen apart) was 400 and had a cotton feel finish.
Am I mad or is the vendor correct?

Nope. Cotton feel here too. Sateen finish is possible with cotton but not standard (we have the stripy stuff).

I bought some 400 thread Egyptian cotton recently and definitely not sateen finish. Have found this article which indicates Sateen and Egyptian are two different things.

I suppose you could have Egyptian cotton with sateen finish if weaved that way but should have said in the listing.

Thank you, I wouldn't have ordered if I'd known as I want the proper cotton finish and the listing definitely didn't mention it.
