Why are you awake? Me ... toothache :(

I can't sleep, got dental problems, developed into an infection so my gum is swollen and it's hurting. On antibiotics since Wednesday afternoon so assuming it'll go very soon, but yesterday afternoon my gum swelled more and it's just horrible

Up now, had more ibuprofen, took another antibiotic and warm salt water rinse ... worse still I can't find the bloody telly remote so I'm the dark with Mumsnet - no telly 😔

Why are you awake ?

Tooth ache a heat pack might help if you have one. Best thing I've found is lignocaine liquid, paint it on and numbs you, but not much use right now, you'd need to be able to get into a chemist.

Best thing I've found for my migraines is lying on an ice pack across the back of your head, where hairline ends. Heat sometimes too. I know a few people who swear by taking panadol with caffeine for migraines.

It's horrible when kids don't sleep - mine are a bit beyond that now but my second child never slept through til he was about 2.5 years old 😔

What's your paper about @MessAllOver

It's a summary of various legal and financial data, with conclusions and recommendations based on the data. It's not that difficult but requires sustained concentration which is why it's easier to work on it during the night rather than try to multi-task with toddler.

Bored now so mumsnetting Grin. Though should try to get another hour in before the beast awakens.

I am awake with back pain and to top it off it's else my 30th birthday

ILoveMyBernina · 12/02/2021 05:37

Toatal sympathy for those with toothache.
I've had 2 dental abcesses in the past 6 months ( same tooth, now extracted).
My Dentist advised regular paracetamol and Ibuprofen but to take 600mg Ibuprofen. Perhaps you could run that by your dentist. Usually some response to oral antibiotics at around 48 hours . Hope you get some relief soon.

ILoveMyBernina · 12/02/2021 05:40

Just awake because we are old and often wake during the night. One of us gets up and makes hot drinks and we have a chat then go back to sleep

custardbear · 12/02/2021 05:52

Congratulations @Covidwoes 🥰

Been up since 4:30am trying to convince the 1yr old to go back sleep. Now on sofa and said 1yr old is playing. The cat is sitting on the arm of the sofa - judging me. DH and Dd still asleep.

margottenenbaum11 · 12/02/2021 06:07

The dog...always the dog. She's taken to getting up at 4.30 and nothing we do makes a difference 😭

StepOutOfLine · 12/02/2021 06:13

Migraine here too. Waiting to ring in sick.
@NoSquirrels Flowers sending you love. Lost my Mum last summer and still feel a bit lost.
Good luck to the ladies in labour, and hope the toothache stops soon- I've only ever had one abscess but wanted to chop my head off

custardbear · 12/02/2021 07:32

So sorry for you both who lost their mum recently, it's hard to lose close relatives, takes ages to start getting over it 😖

Most early mornings, we are woken cause the bugger cat wakes us up because the radiator has gone cold and she wants it back on!

moleeye · 14/02/2021 00:11

Had the AZ vaccine in the morning, started feeling absolutely dreadful at about 6pm

Cold not warm up, achy from head to toe, shivers, couldn't move. Now I'm sweating and still achy. Hope i feel better soon as no doubt the 1 year old will be up in the night and only want me!!!

FidgetArse · 14/02/2021 00:15

@moleeye

I was abit crappy for about 36 hours or so

Flossie44 · 14/02/2021 00:23

Moleeye - I had AZ Friday pm. By Friday evening felt awful with fever, body aches etc. Rough all day sat and now led in bed unable to sleep because of muscle cramps in my legs.
Such horrid side effects.

Ilovechoc12 · 14/02/2021 00:23

I’m pissed off as my son is in a private independent uk school and they are applying ECHP however I have to fund the first 13 hrs which is unfair as if he was in a state school it would be totally free..... and I’m just worried about my boy whether his anxiety will ever calm down
