Vegan chocolate - is it chocolate?

I'm not vegan. I don't care if my dark chocolate is vegan or not but I do want it to be lovely and delicious. Ideally looking for chocolate buttons at around 70%. A lot of my searches keep coming back as vegan. But does it taste like normal chocolate? I don't want to spend £££ on chocolate I won't like. I just want a nice treat in the cupboard for when I fancy it.

If it’s dark chocolate it will taste the same being vegan or not. It’s milk and white chocolate that have vegan versions made, dark chocolate is naturally vegan

Montezuma's dark chocolate buttons are lush.

Ah thanks. I never knew that Blush I've never noticed it being labelled as vegan before.

Of course it is. Milk chocolate is chocolate that has milk in it. Chocolate is chocolate whether it has milk in or not. Just check the ingrediants of any plain chocolate.

Moo Free chocolates are vegan as are Booja Booja.

High quality dark chocolate may be, as this article terms it, “accidentally vegan”. Basically it’s the additives that make it non-vegan, and they are found in cheaper dark chocolate.

I eat Lindt 90% which is vegan. I’m not vegan, I’m the complete opposite - carnivore. I eat steak, chicken, pork, eggs, butter and 90% Lindt Grin

@Kpo58 thank you I've ordered the giant chocolate buttons.

Good quality dark choc had no milk in it , hence not being called ‘milk chocolate’.

Lindt and Green and Blacks dark chic, for example, is naturally vegan.
