Travel to Isle of Man for work?

Can anyone help as I'm going around in circles on government websites...

Can I go to the IOM to work - they are in Level 4 border control and then do I need to isolate when I come back - I don't think so as we're in a CTA with them?

You don’t need to isolate when you come back because of CTA.

Getting into IOM is the issue, you have to have an exemption certificate. That certificate will tell you what you have to do, ie, if you have to isolate when you arrive there. You have to isolate on your own for two weeks as an essential worker I think covid19.gov.im/businesses/business-and-employee-travel/

The govt helpline is pretty good.

I think the restrictions while you're in the IOM will be far more onerous than when you come back. After all, they're pretty much COVID free (pubs open and everything, although you wouldn't be allowed to go).

You'd have to have an essential reason to go there, ie you're providing a service that is unavailable on the island and cannot be provided remotely and you'd be subject to testing and strict movement restrictions, basically travelling between your accommodation and workplace and isolating in your room when not working.

If you break these requirements, they will put you in prison - see the welders who went to the supermarket, the IOM resident who bought petrol on the way back from the ferry port and numerous other examples.

Just want to point out that you need travel insurance for the Isle of Man and they specifically insurance that will cover repatriation to the mainland.

You also need an IOM Work Permit for any island employment or self-employment except for a few professions or executive positions or if you're spouse of one of those professionals.
Check IOM government website.
