It’s stunning isn’t it? It’s in Middlesbrough though.
Location location location, right? But it’s so pretty and large! Not sure how to make link “clicky”

It’s gorgeous! I would completely redecorate it but I love the room sizes.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/02/2021 22:02

Are you wanting to move to Middlesbrough or are you already in the area and wanting to move within it?

I dont dislike the house. Its lovely. But it wouldn't be for me and that's not just the location.

LizzieSiddal · 10/02/2021 22:04

My friend lives in a very similar house, though hers is slightly larger. Grin I used to be so jealous but not any more. Every time I go and stay I have to pack as if I’m off to the artic because it’s blooming freezing.

Hopefully that will put you off, unless you love the cold.

Figgyboa · 10/02/2021 22:04

2 bathrooms for 6 rooms isn't sufficient in my eyes....need at least a stand alone toilet on the ground floor

EssexLioness · 10/02/2021 22:04

Your clicky link worked 😊 sorry, I am no use whatsoever but that house is stunning and so much space. It’s absolutely beautiful and I can see why you’re tempted.
I don’t know the area at all but being used to southern prices, I am inclined to wonder why it is so cheap. Is that expected where it is or does it reflect badly on the location?

alltheadrenalin · 10/02/2021 22:06

It's beautiful I'm no hope to you op

Chipsahoy · 10/02/2021 22:07

There is a toilet on the ground floor also, it’s in the utility.
It’s so our taste, the cold comment definitely helps put me off.

Seems to be a normal price for the area.
We are moving north but had decided somewhere in a village, semi rural. Definitely not a fan of Middlesbrough. But this house!

It is a lovely house, but I'm pretty sure Middlesborough is one of those places that comes out veyr high on unemployment, low on quality of life etc. I've certainly not heard anything good about it.

Alternista · 10/02/2021 22:09

God, it’s beautiful.

Sorry, no help 😁

It's the area. And actually, seems to be in the nicer part of town. There are 6bed houses going for 180k in Middlesbrough.
Chipsahoy · 10/02/2021 22:10

Thanks @Echobelly that’s what I wanted to hear. Because I do know that really. Looks to be a nice area of the city but it’s really not the nicest of cities is it?

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/02/2021 22:10

Dont stop at Middlesbrough if you are heading North. Keep going a tad further.

Tinty · 10/02/2021 22:10

It’s lovely, a house like that would be twice that price in my area. Sad

LBOCS2 · 10/02/2021 22:10

To back up a PP's comment about the cold, I grew up in a house very similar to the one you've linked. One year I was given a clock with a thermometer in it for Christmas, and on Christmas Day I went downstairs and announced that it was 8 degrees in my bedroom - 3 degrees warmer than a fridge.

Given that the heating was on at the time, I think DM felt she was being very reasonable when she offered me another blanket for my bed 😁

Still, you grow up hardy. I'm boiling if our heating gets above 17 now!

FellowFlipFlop · 10/02/2021 22:12

Fucking hell that's gorgeous, buy it! I don't know the area at all but I'm in the south and could only dream of owning such a beautiful house

Chipsahoy · 10/02/2021 22:13

@BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz
That’s the plan to be honest. North west Durham or into Northumberland.
Just got carried away on Rightmove. Dh wants to view it but he’s not from UK and doesn’t believe the area looks bad at all on street view.

Where do you need to commute to for work? Wouldn’t live in that city

kurtrussellsbeard · 10/02/2021 22:14

It's beautiful. Go view it!

kurtrussellsbeard · 10/02/2021 22:14

And why is it so cheap?

Chipsahoy · 10/02/2021 22:15

Thanks for all the comments. For and against. Cold is a big negative. I get blistered hands in the cold

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/02/2021 22:17

Even if the area is good (and it may be) it will be a small spot in a sort of sea of meh.

I dont want to shit on Middlesbrough, lord knows I dont live in a great part of my own northern town; but houses are cheap for a reason. Unemployment etc is all a factor.

thebear1 · 10/02/2021 22:18

I could walk to it in 2 minutes, its in a nice area of Middlesbrough. But in Boro you are never far from struggling areas.

FVFrog · 10/02/2021 22:19

Gorgeous house, sorry Grin

Chipsahoy · 10/02/2021 22:19

No need to commute. We work from home full time prior to covid.
The move is to be in a small town or larger village, between countryside and sea.
We live just outside a city now and it’s fine but it’s a decent city...
