It’s stunning isn’t it? It’s in Middlesbrough though.
Location location location, right? But it’s so pretty and large! Not sure how to make link “clicky”

Until I saw your £400k budget, I was going to suggest this... Still good for house porn!

It used to be an (Air)bnb and we stayed in it a few years ago. Horncliffe is a lovely quiet village.

It's stunning... you can't get a 3 bed semi for that where I am :(

@Chipsahoy I can't talk you out of it because i want to put an offer on it. Right. Now!!! And i live over 400 miles away from Middlesborough.....

Beautiful house and very our style... but I wouldn't live in Middlesbrough even for half the asking price.

Come a little further north - you mentioned north west Durham area in another post, that's the area we currently live and yes there's some not so great areas but on the whole I recommend it over Middlesbrough.

Happy to have a look at any properties you've got your eye on and give you an honest opinion on location if that would help.

[quote FlamedToACrisp]Sure you wouldn't prefer the Isle of Wight, OP? We're lovely and warm down here most of the year. How about a gorgeous 5 bedroom cottage?

Is this a joke? The whole thing needs knocking down 😬.

Chipsahoy · 11/02/2021 07:21

You have talked me out of it! Thank you!

I already live near a polluted city and want away from it.

300k is what my house has sold for and it’s 4 double bed, utility room, large kitchen and big garden also separate dining room. That’s in the midlands. It’s the south and London area that’s high priced.

I live just outside Middlesbrough, in Acklam, which is a lovely place to live.
My sister lives in Linthorpe, but the Acklam end. Also a very nice place to live.
You might also want to look at Nunthorpe, Yarm and Stokesley.

That house is in a nice part and the houses are beautiful, but close to some not so nice areas.
I find the most intimidating area to be the top end of Linthorpe Road, a shame as many very nice places to eat there.
If you are just nipping into the town centre and parking in Hill Street to do primark etc it is fine.
That house is close to two decent Secondary schools and some great primaries, also a short drive to the Cleveland hills, the coast and some nice parks.
Middlesbrough does have areas of terrible deprivation, however it has many plus points and we are very happy here, as are my family.
Plus we have Parmos- what else could you want?! 😂
