Landlord woes

I've posted before under a different name about our hideous landlord / EA.

We moved out 10 days ago and they are simply refusing to engage in any discussion about our deposit. They just say they'll get back to us in due course. We've requested the funds from the DPS and the EA have said they aren't going to respond to it.

How long can they string this out for?

According to shelters info online - if no answer after two weeks, you request a form online from the DPS for a single claim. Says the form needs a solicitor to witness (only a few quid) . Send it back, landlord gets two weeks. If still nothing the scheme will release the money.

What a tosser - but the process looks reasonably straight forward. You're better off with silence than of the landlord contacts the scheme, which could mean it is a court job - so stop chasing him and hope.
