Freedom of speech

I am appalled that a man in Scotland has been charged with an offence under the Communications Act 2003 regarding a tweet about Sir Tom Moore. Don't get me wrong, I think the tweet was dreadful and I was a huge fan of Sir Tom, but this is the destruction of free speech, it makes us no better than North Korea or Nazi Germany.

depends what he said surely. (what did he say?)

Nazi Germany.

And in only one post!

Utterly ridiculous.

There is nothing ridiculous about condemning attacks on free speechHmm. Suppression if free speech and drawing comparisons with totalitarian regimes is perfectly legitimate.
If the idiot who posted the tweet was inciting violence then that would be fair enough, his tweet was "The only good Brit soldier is a deed one, burn auld fella, buuuuurn." A dreadful tweet but one we should be free to condemn, not prosecute.
