Help me remember this game from being a kid

It’s doing my head in.
We played it at school, on days close to the end of term.
We were paired up and had to write a story between the two of us, taking it in turns to write a line, then fold the paper over and pass it to your partner and then once finished reading it out and seeing how funny and silly the story was.

Please help me!

We called it consequences.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 09/02/2021 20:56

We just called it "That game. You know. The one where we write a story..." Grin

sadpapercourtesan · 09/02/2021 20:56

I don't know but it sounds very wholesome

we used to go up to the top of the multi-storey car park and throw pennies down at the cars Blush

LutherRalph1 · 09/02/2021 20:57

Also called it consequences

DinosaurDiana · 09/02/2021 20:58

I’ve never known it writing a story.
We used to do it where the first person drew the head and neck, next did the body down to the top of the legs, first one the legs, and finally the second one the feet.

ValpolicellaPrimitivo · 09/02/2021 20:59

Consequences.

We used to play it whilst drunk at university.

VienneseWhirligig · 09/02/2021 20:59

We used to do that in our Latin class when the teacher's back was turned Grin

jendifer · 09/02/2021 21:00

Consequences for us was
Man
Woman
Location
He said
She said
Consequence

HeyMicky · 09/02/2021 21:01

I know it as consequences but there is a set pattern:

Man's name
(met)
Woman's name
(in/at/on)
Location
He said to her, "..."
She said to him, "..."
And the consequences were ...

cariadlet · 09/02/2021 21:03

Definitely Consequences. I didn't play it at school but played it at home. There was an order of what you had to write before you folded the paper. I can't remember it exactly but it was something like name of person A, name of person B, where they met, what A said, what B said and what the consequence was.

MonkeyPuddle · 09/02/2021 21:04

God I bloody love mumsnet.

I have spent 3 days trying to remember this!!

Thank you for saving my sanity! It was consequences!

Cross posted!

Ormally · 09/02/2021 21:10

I think the one we did was slightly longer (or somebody strung it out more suggestively):
Man's name
(met)
Woman's name
He said to her:
She said to him:
Where they went:
What they did:
and the consequence

You can have one long piece of paper each and swap them, if playing in twos, to get 2 at the same time.

Alexindiamondarmour · 09/02/2021 21:32

We played it exactly the same way as @HeyMicky

Fun times!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 09/02/2021 21:34

Simple pleasures

HeyMicky · 09/02/2021 21:34

It's a glorious game to play with kids. Inevitably the school principal will meet someone in the bath and make a comment about bums or farts Grin

MariLwyd · 09/02/2021 22:17

Consequences

There’s also exquisite corpse which is the one where you take turns to draw head/body/legs folding it over in between

SnowyBranches · 09/02/2021 22:24

Consequences is "x met y at z. He said, she said" etc
The story game is just writing a story and folding over the previous two lines, and is called the story game.
We called the heads bodies legs game, heads bodies legs. Or Monsters
