Which tassimo machine is best?

I'd like to buy my bestie a coffee machine for her birthday. I've been looking at the Tassimo Happy... I want it to be able to make lattes....does the drink you get depend on the discs you use rather than the machine itself? The Happy is on offer on a well known website... it says down from over £100. Is that what they normally are or is it one of those 'inflate the price for a bit then reduce it to make it look like a bargain' offers? Any one who has a Tassimo and can give me some info on it....I'd be grateful. Thanks.

None. They're horrendously wasteful. Plus they make vile coffee.

I do realise others see them as awesome. No mess, lots of choice.

Oh.....not the response I was hoping for! Have seen rave reviews online...if they are to be believed!!

Honestly, the coffee and whitener are rank, absolutely nothing like real latte.

I love my Tassimo. Ive got a 'My Way' it allows you to set profiles and adjusts the heat and strength of the coffee.

The drinks are the same no matter what machine you use. The Costa range are nice so are some of the hot chocolate.

As I said I love mine & use it daily

Yes, the drink depends on the discs. My husband loved his Tassimo but after 5 years it started to not work properly. He's now got a dolce gusto which he prefers.

The Happy is OK for the price but I personally think the Vivy is better. It's certainly not worth £100. Argos, Curry's AO etc all have it on for £39.99

We just bought my in laws a Dolce Gusto Krups Genio and they love it but it was £60 from Currys. We did wonder about getting them the cheaper Piccolo which also had good reviews & is only £35 in Curry's but went for the better one in the end.
