We love anything by Judith Kerr, Shirley Hughes, Jill Murphy, the Albie books and he's currently obsessed with the Mole books and Beatrix Potter (which are a lot darker than I had realised!). Can anyone recommend some more lovely story books? Anything with animals or dinosaurs goes down well!

Thank you for any recommendations!

For when you next shop... Try The Works. If they still have the offer, it's 10 for £10. Not the most well known authors or titles but perfectly good stories. One of our long term favourites came from there (Milly the Meerkat)

Other recommendation is for 'Flip Flap' animal series (there might be a dinosaur one). You turn half the page at a time, so it gives strange animals (like the top half of an elephant and bottom half on a tiger, with a description.)

The Little Red Train series was popular with my boys when they were younger. Dinosaurs Love Underpants is also fun.
