... you're 8 months into maternity leave, 11 months into lockdown and you have the rare opportunity of a child-free afternoon (5/6 hours).

WWYD?

Catch up on much needed sleep?
Tackle the overdue housework?
Indulge in some 'pampering' (wash and dry hair, shave legs, face mask)?
Do something you enjoy (Netflix, read, bake, knit, whatever it might be)?

Tell me, how would you spend those glorious hours?

I'd spend an hour cleanings, its amazing how much you can get done on your own

I'd then go for a long walk, an hour or two

Then come home and have a really long shower ft hair mask and shaving

And chill on the couch with nice moisturisers while watching a bit of tv.

And order a takeaway to pick up on the way to get dc so I could continue to feel spoilt

Enjoy your time op

I would have a nap, do a bit of tidying, have a long soak then chill watching telly or playing PlayStation or crafting or whatever mood took me. Enjoy!

TheChosenTwo · 08/02/2021 07:17

Definitely catch up on some overdue housework, Chuck on a wash load, make sure the bedroom is clean and tidy, hoover downstairs, tidy the kitchen, (these are the things I would do and it would probably take about half an hour, maybe an hour if I was pregnant and slower!!!) once all that was done I’d probably take a walk round the block then come home and read/watch Netflix/sleep for the rest of the time guilt free because all the hard work is done.
Enjoy your time off Flowers
And don’t go for a walk if it’s really snowy!

HardcoreParkour · 08/02/2021 11:13

Thanks ladies. The clock starts now!

After enjoying a hot latte, I'm going to:

Clean the oven
Do a general tidy up, hoover, etc.
Couple of loads of washing

THEN...

Have a nice peaceful lunch where I can eat without having to share

THEN...

Batch cook some meals for DS

THEN.... (this is the best bit)....

It's snowing here so I'm going to snuggle up on the couch with a fleecy blanket, hot chocolate and watch Real Housewives of Atlanta 🤩

Doesn't take a lot to please me at the moment lol. Have to take all the simple pleasures we can get! Hope you all have a good day too.

Hope you’re still enjoying the peace! I wouldn’t have cleaned the oven though; that’s a step too far Grin so well done you.

HardcoreParkour · 08/02/2021 19:46

@TheChosenTwo I had lovely day thank you. DS is now tucked up in bed so the peace continues 👍🏼 although I must confess, the oven hasn't been cleaned (think I was being a bit overzealous there) 😂

A bit of cleaning and then a big fuck off drive

TheChosenTwo · 08/02/2021 19:58

Oh good, I’m glad you swerved that one! We get someone in twice a year to clean ours!
Sounds like you have a peaceful evening ahead of you too, bliss Smile - I’ve got a ds who won’t stop rabbiting away next to me, we’ve just played chess and then half an hour of cards, he just talks non stop - I’m told he’s not like this at school, clearly just saves it up for me Hmm
