PS5 - any ideas on how to buy one?

DS is desperate for a PS5. He’s been saving money for over a year and finally has enough.
What are the best ways of getting one? Does anyone have any hints or tips?

There's rumours of new stock this month so I'd set some alerts but prepare for potential disappointment.

I’ve heard rumours of stock but haven’t seen anything yet. Can anyone share where there’s is from? And any tips?

Check twitter for PS5 stock, They normally let you know a few days in advance.

I've been looking online every day since January.

Argos had them on the 25th or something and they were only sold from 1am-5am as they sold out.

I still don't know how to set notifications to buy one

It's really hard to get one we have been trying to get one since November. Bots are getting them and reselling for x3 as much

I managed to get one a few weeks back, I signed up to twitter alerts and from that I joined a discord group, it was the discord announcement that got me one, by the time the ps5 twitter announced they were sold out. I have deleted the discord group but it was a link from ps5 UK stock update on twitter

If they're selling out overnight to either bots or real people, then you're unlikely to get one in the short term unless you do the same or pay over the odds from the resellers.

How old is DS? If he's saved up the money and is capable of making an online order, why can't he buy one if he waits up for one to come in stock?

Just logged in and it's out of stock. No option to buy it.

My phone is incompatible with discord. Which twitter site did you get the link from?

I've told DS it could be a year before he could get one.

Oh I totally understand your frustration OP. My DS wanted one for Christmas and we still owe it to him. I’ve got an alert set up on HotStock and an alarm sounds whenever anywhere gets stock. However, even when I have clicked the link the second the alarm goes off, it is still out of stock by the time I get on the website! Its impossible 🙁

Dp managed to get one a few weeks back but he spent days being awake from midnight onwards following certain twitter feeds and sitting in online queues every time stock came in.

@EightToSixer There is a drop expected in all major retailers tomorrowm. I'm staying awake after midnight to see if they do it during the night

Hey op, i managed to get one a few weeks ago.

What i did was check all retailers at around 5am each morning, took about 3 weeks!

Managed to grab one from Argos click and collect.

I tried stock informer but they were rubbish!

@ButterfliesnWaterfalls we wanted to get one last week from ShopTo. It hasn’t been dispatched yet so I’m still a little concerned, but they have taken the cash. I may still try again with other retailers tomorrow.

I know Argos restocked at 3am and sold out in seconds. Very are restocking in the next hour. Good luck with your search

Ooo that's good yours has come!

I was up from 12-4am trying Argos but non available and then when it did become in stock, it didn't work.
