Pocket Money

I was a child of the late 70's early 80's and always got my pocket money on a Saturday morning. I couldn't wait to get it as I would rush to my local shop buy the latest whizzer and chips comic and a quarter of whatever sweet I fancied (usually strawberry bonbons) . What did you spend your pocket money on, did you save for some new toy or spend like me?😀

I was born 1976 so I remember getting a 10p piece which then went up to 20p when they were invented...
I was taken to the corner shop every Friday to buy my weekly sweets, they all cost 1p or a halfpenny each.

In the summer I would buy a lemonade, cola, or cider ice lolly.

Sweets & lollies don't taste the same now they've got less additives in!!

I was born in 1980s. I used to love getting new books, we weren’t allowed to get sweets unless on holiday (which I was that strict with my own children!)
