How to make a mini pub at home?

It’s my dp’s birthday soon and I was thinking of doing a night in at the pub just to make it something different from sitting on the settee watching telly.

So far my ideas are:
A Staying Inn pub sign from etsy
Personalised beer mats
A basket of crisps/nuts/pork scratchings
Getting the projector out and playing an old football match on the wall
A few balloons
A cheap beer dispenser to pull pints from

Is there anything else anyone can think of? It’ll be in the dining room but we got rid of the table so we’ll have to use the desk and camping chairs 😂. Although I could borrow a long picnic table from my mum and do it like that.

Anyway if anyone has any ideas of other ways to make it a bit pub like that’d be great.

Thanks

Pub games / cribbage / darts / spoof

Desmondo2016 · 07/02/2021 10:56

Turn Alexa into a juke box!!

Desmondo2016 · 07/02/2021 10:57

Oh but just getting drunk and shagging him in the toilet should do it 🤣

Desmondo2016 · 07/02/2021 10:57

I wouldn't bother with the old football match. Surely that would be 90 minutes of dull?

Portla · 07/02/2021 10:59

Depends what vibe your going for if you was to recreat our local you'd definitely have to tip something sticky on the floor just for the challenge of making it to the toilet without losing a flipflop Grin

Fab idea though!!

Desmondo2016 · 07/02/2021 11:04

And obviously you have to play the role of Busty Brenda the Barmaid for the night 🤣

JoanneCofton · 07/02/2021 11:07

@Desmondo2016 shagging in a pub toilet would just be a reenactment of the night we met so maybe I’ll save that for our anniversary 😂

@Portla good idea, I could make a playlist of songs to choose from. And charge him 20p a time!

You might find a mini beer keg a cheaper way to do the pulled pints

Grooticle · 07/02/2021 11:41

Get a keg (a small one) so you can pull pints.

Offer pub snacks - crisps, peanuts etc.

Get a dartboard.

Could you zoom some of your regular pub friends and they could have a pint “with” you both?

JoanneCofton · 07/02/2021 11:45

Oh never even knew mini kegs existed so I’ll have a look now! Dartboard is a great idea as well. Thanks

Get a mini keg - local breweries are delivering

Amdone123 · 07/02/2021 12:42

This is a great idea! If Mohammed can't get to the mountain....
What about pub food ? I know pps have mentioned snacks, but favourite food....chicken in a basket! ( The last time I went to a pub must have been in the 80s!!)
Have fun !

What a great thread!

JoanneCofton · 07/02/2021 12:55

Ooo yeah the food baskets are a good idea as well. I’ll order some of them and maybe do chicken and chips. I’ve ordered the mini keg from a local brewery to pick up so thanks for that idea.

There's a beer company online that have made a Staying Inn pub...
