Please can anyone give me some advice on what to do ! Am a mummy to 1 DD some to add a new addition to our family I went back to work when my daughter was 3 months old and had a lot of help with childcare then when she turned 1 she started nursery and she is now 2 and still in nursery which am sure you are all aware this is not a cheap cost she currently in 5 days a week due to me used to work 10/12 hour shifts and my partner working 7-4 so I would drop off he will pick up now am working 30 hours a week but all different start and finish times am just don’t know what to do when my new addition arrives I’ve missed out on maternity by 3 days and feel I went back to work far to early woth my Dd and feel I have missed out on so much and spending so much on nursery fees and really can’t afford it for both children and now we do t have much help with childcare but if it comes to it we would have to cut somethings to be able to try and afford nursery fees twice! Anyway to the point what would you do if in my position or what are you doing ? Just feel I’ve missed out on so much already is it all really worth it should I come out of work and enjoy being a mum instead of rushing out of morning and missing most bed times and every weekend ?

Thanks I’m advance

What do you mean you've missed out on maternity by 3 days?

I had to be working for my company for 26 weeks by the time and 25 weeks pregant and the short fall is 3 days so won’t get maternity from them and doubt be about to claim anything due to my partner working

If I'm understanding what you're saying, and that you will miss out in statutory maternity pay by 3 days, you should be able to claim maternity allowance which is a similar amount?
